THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary: $103,913 - $116,383 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Time Fraction: Full Time 1.0 EFT.   
Location: Moorabbin campus.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing contract of appointment, with a 6-month qualifying period.

The Faculty of Health Science, Community and Social Studies provides a progressive, innovative, supportive teaching environment with strong industry links. The Department of Higher Education Nursing Programs is currently seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and qualified individual who can bring expertise and experience in designing and delivering undergraduate curriculum to students across the Nursing Programs.

In this position, you will lecture our students through a mix of theoretical and advanced simulation exercises which will be held in our modern simulation rooms and clinical wards.

You will work closely with our team of educators, implementing modern educational methods within a creative, interactive curriculum that will also include online materials.  

In this role, you will have an active involvement in research as you help advance our academic community's progress and expansion.

ABOUT YOU

  • Postgraduate qualifications - Master of Nursing, Education, relevant specialty area or health-related discipline.
  • Possess high-level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management, organisational and planning skills
  • A keen interest in applying contemporary, evidence-based teaching and learning methods to maximise student learning outcomes.
  • Familiarity with simulation is essential as this is embedded into each year of nursing.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching higher education students.
  • Ability to positively respond to change and adapt to new situations and requirements.

In addition, you will possess:

  • Current registration with NMBA | AHPRA
  • Extensive experience as a Registered Nurse in Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in nursing education within higher education along with writing and delivering undergraduate curriculum.
